Performance for very short time periods may not be indicative of future performance.

For a period of three years subsequent to the effective date, Janus Capital may recover from the Fund fees and expenses previously waived or reimbursed if the Fund's expense ratio, including recovered expenses, falls below the expense limit.

For Perkins Value Plus Income Fund, Janus Global Bond Fund, Janus Real Return Allocation Fund and Janus Emerging Markets Fund: The fees and expenses shown reflect estimated annualized expenses that the Fund share class expects to incur during its initial fiscal year. Contractual waivers agreed to by Janus Capital, where applicable, are included under "Net Annual Fund Operating Expenses." (All expenses are shown without the effect of expense offset arrangements. Pursuant to such arrangements, credits realized as a result of uninvested cash balances are used to reduce custodian and transfer agent expenses.)

A Fund's performance may be affected by risks that include those associated with nondiversification, non-investment grade debt securities, high-yield/high-risk securities, undervalued or overlooked companies, investments in specific industries or countries and potential conflicts of interest. Additional risks to a Fund may also include, but are not limited to, those associated with investing in foreign securities, emerging markets, initial public offerings, real estate investment trusts (REITs), derivatives, short sales, commodity-linked investments and companies with relatively small market capitalizations. Each Fund has different risks. Please see a Janus prospectus for more information about risks, Fund holdings and other details.

Foreign securities have additional risks including exchange rate changes, political and economic upheaval, the relative lack of information, relatively low market liquidity and the potential lack of strict financial and accounting controls and standards. These risks are magnified in emerging markets. The prices of foreign securities held by the fund, and therefore a fund's performance, may decline in response to such risks.

The Fund is not a capital guaranteed or insured fund. As with all investments, there are inherent risks when investing in the Fund including, but not limited to, allocation risk, maximum settlement amount risk, turnover risk, liquidation risk, opportunity cost risk, capital protection termination risk, underperformance risk and counterparty risk, each as disclosed in the Fund's Prospectuses. The protection feature only covers shareholders who hold their shares on the termination date, and is subject to various conditions and the financial payment capabilities of BNP Paribas.

There is no guarantee that the investment techniques used by the Janus Protected Series - Growth's portfolio managers and the risk allocation methodologies set forth in the Capital Protection Agreement will produce the desired results. Only shareholders who hold their shares on the Fund's termination date will be covered by the Protection. If the NAV per share for any share class is less than the Protected NAV the fund would liquidate.

The terms and conditions of the Capital Protection Agreement are designed to provide capital protection to Janus Protected Series - Growth if the then current NAV is below the Protected NAV for any share class. The capital protection is not provided in the event of gross negligence, fraud, willful misconduct or a criminal act on the part of the Fund, Janus Capital, certain key employees of Janus Capital, or the Fund's custodian that could negatively impact the Fund. Such events result in the termination of the Protection without obligating the Capital Protection Provider and its parent guarantor (the "parent guarantor") to make any payment to the Fund. Neither the Fund nor Janus Capital is obligated to make any payment to the Fund or cover any shortfall. Therefore, in the event that the Protection is so terminated you could lose money as a result of the Fund losing the Protection under the Capital Protection Agreement, including amounts that would have otherwise been protected. The Fund is expected to liquidate in these events.

Amounts owed by the Capital Protection Provider under the Capital Protection Agreement are owed directly to the Fund and not to the Fund's shareholders. As a result, a shareholder's ability to receive the Protected NAV from the Fund is dependent on the Fund's ability to collect any settlement amount due from the Capital Protection Provider, and/or the Parent Guarantor, pursuant to the terms of the Capital Protection Agreement. Fund transactions involving a counterparty, such as the Capital Protection Provider and/or the Parent Guarantor, are subject to the risk that the counterparty will not fulfill its obligation to the Fund. Counterparty risk may arise because of the counter party's financial condition (i.e. financial difficulties, bankruptcy or insolvency), market activities or developments, or other reasons, whether foreseen or not. As such, the Fund's ability to benefit from the Protection may depend on the Capital Protection Provider's, as well as its Parent Guarantor's, financial condition.

Janus Protected Series - Growth's asset allocation will vary over time depending on market conditions and therefore the Fund's allocation to each investment component could change as frequently as daily resulting in a higher portfolio turnover rate than other mutual funds. Increased portfolio turnover may result in higher costs, which may have a negative effect on the Fund's performance.

If Janus Protected Series - Growth, Janus Capital or any other third party service provider, such as the custodian, fails to comply with the terms and conditions of the Capital Protection Agreement, including the allocation of Fund assets in accordance with specified risk parameters, the Capital Protection Provider may terminate the Capital Protection Agreement. Investors who sell their shares will redeem them at the then current NAV, expect in the case of a liquidation event.

For Janus Venture Fund: The fees and expenses shown are based on the estimated expenses that each class of Shares expects to incur during its initial fiscal period.

The proprietary mathematical process used by INTECH may not achieve the desired results. Since the portfolio is periodically re-balanced, this may result in a higher portfolio turnover rate, higher expenses and potentially higher net taxable gains or losses compared to a "buy and hold" or index fund strategy.

For Janus Global Real Estate Fund: Funds that invest in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) may be subject to a higher degree of market risk because of concentration in a specific industry, sector or geographic region. REITs may be subject to risks including, but not limited to: legal, political, liquidity, interest rate risks, a decline in the value of real estate, risks related to economic conditions, changes in the value of the underlying property owned by the trust and defaults by borrowers. To the extent the Funds invest in foreign REITs, the Funds may be subject to fluctuations in currency rates or political or economic conditions in a particular country.

For Janus Venture Fund, Janus Global Life Sciences Fund, Janus Global Select Fund and Janus Global Technology Fund: The use of short sales may cause the fund to have higher expenses than those of other equity funds. Short sales are speculative transactions and involve special risks, including a greater reliance on the investment team's ability to accurately anticipate the future value of a security. The Fund's losses are potentially unlimited in a short sale transaction. The Fund's use of short sales in effect leverages the Fund's portfolio. The Fund's use of leverage may result in risks and can magnify the effect of any losses. There is no assurance that a leveraging strategy will be successful. For Janus Contrarian Fund, Janus Fund, Janus Emerging Markets Fund, Perkins Mid Cap Value Fund and Janus Global Select Fund: The Fund may invest in derivatives which can be highly volatile and involve additional risks than if the underlying securities were held directly by the Fund. Such risks include gains or losses which, as a result of leverage, can be substantially greater than the derivatives' original cost. There is also a possibility that derivatives may not perform as intended which can reduce opportunity for gain or result in losses by offsetting positive returns in other securities the Fund owns.

For Janus Balanced Fund and Perkins Value Plus Income Fund: Funds that invest in bonds have the same interest rate, inflation, and credit risks that are associated with the underlying bonds owned by the fund. Unlike owning individual bonds, there are ongoing fees and expenses associated with owning shares of bonds funds. The return of principal is not guaranteed due to net asset value fluctuation that is caused by changes in the price of specific bonds held in the fund and selling of bonds within the fund by the portfolio manager(s).

For Janus Balanced Fund, Janus Growth and Income Fund and Perkins Value Plus Income Fund: High-yield/high-risk bonds, also known as "junk" bonds, involve a greater risk of default and price volatility than U.S. Government and other high quality bonds. High-yield/high-risk bonds can experience sudden and sharp price swings which will affect net asset value.

Bond prices generally move in the opposite direction of interest rates, thus Janus Real Return Fund's share price may decline as the prices of bonds adjust to a rise in interest rates.

Interest-rate movements will affect the Janus Real Return Fund's share price and yield.

For Janus Real Return Fund: Because of their inflation adjustment feature, inflation-linked bonds typically have lower yields than conventional fixed-rate bonds and normally decline in price when real interest rates rise.

Commodity-Linked Investments may subject Janus Real Return Fund to greater volatility.

The risks of investment in foreign securities include currency fluctuations and economic and political uncertainty. These and other risks are discussed in Janus Real Return Fund's prospectus.

For Janus Global Life Sciences Fund, Janus Global Technology Fund, Janus Global Real Estate Fund, Janus Overseas Fund, Janus International Equity Fund, Janus Flexible Bond Fund, Janus High-Yield Fund, Janus Short-Term Bond Fund, Janus Emerging Markets Fund, Janus Global Bond Fund, Perkins Small Cap Value Fund, Perkins Mid-Cap Value Fund and Perkins Large Cap Value Fund: The Fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets, measured at the time of purchase, in the type of securities described by its name. For Perkins Global Value Fund, Janus Diversified Alternatives Fund, Janus Emerging Markets Fund, Janus Global Bond Fund, Janus Global Select Fund, Janus Global Real Estate and Perkins Small Cap Value Fund: Holding a meaningful portion of assets in cash or cash equivalents may negatively affect performance.

For Janus Diversified Alternatives Fund: Investments in commodities, commodity-linked notes, securities derivatives, futures, foreign securities, short sales and investments through a nonregistered subsidiary provide exposure to certain special risks, including greater volatility and loss of interest and principal, and may not be appropriate for all investors. Commodities are speculative and may fluctuate widely based on a variety of factors, including market movements, economic events and supply and demand disruptions. Derivatives involve risks in addition to the risks of the underlying securities, including gains or losses which, as a result of leverage, can be substantially greater than the derivatives' original cost. Short sales are speculative transactions with potentially unlimited losses, and the use of leverage can magnify the effect of losses.

For Janus Diversified Alternatives Fund: Janus Capital does not have prior experience managing a risk premia investment strategy. There is a risk that the Fund's investments will correlate with stocks and bonds to a greater degree than anticipated, and the investment process may not achieve the desired results. The Fund may underperform during up markets and be negatively affected in down markets. Diversification does not assure a profit or eliminate the risk of loss.

For Janus Contrarian Fund, Janus Global Select Fund, Janus Global Bond Fund, Janus Emerging Markets Fund and Janus Overseas Fund: This fund may have significant exposure to emerging markets. In general, emerging market investments have historically been subject to significant gains and/or losses. As such, the Fund's returns and NAV may be subject to volatility.

A Fund's portfolio may differ significantly from the securities held in the index. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment; therefore its performance does not reflect the expenses associated with the active management of an actual portfolio.
